This course presents basic principles of cultivation, cultivation equipment for in-row and between row weed management, and other information that will help you successfully integrate cultivation into your weed management program.

Students completing this course will learn about:

  • Basic principles of cultivation.
  • Row crop cultivators and how to use them.
  • In-row weeding with tine weeders and rotary hoes.
  • Cultivation equipment that works very close to the row.
  • Why good soil tilth for is important for effective cultivation.

Successful completion of this module will earn you 1.25 recertification credits for New York State DEC certified pesticide applicators in categories 1a, 10, 21, 22 and 23.
